Your Health Insurance Checklist

Review your insurance policy and stipulation for your coverage prior to receiving services.  Insurance carriers have placed increased responsibility on the insured person. More than ever, you need to be familiar with your medical insurance plan and study the booklet from the insurer that describes your coverage. The human resource department at your place of employment can be helpful in providing some coverage information as well. 

Contact your insurance company for pre-certification of your procedure.  Many companies require pre-approval (approval prior to the procedures being performed), or they will not cover the medical treatment. Please contact your insurance carrier before your procedure to verify if this is necessary.
